Þórsmörk (“Thor’s Valley”) is a dramatic mountain ridge and partly forested area lying between the glaciers Tindfjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull, and Eyjafjallajökull. Lying between several volcanoes, the local geology is a testiment to previous eruptions. Located in the southern part of the highlands, Þórsmörk is the terminus of the famed Laugavegur hiking trail that reaches Landmannalaugar to the north.
